Present:
Arthur Lehr, Chris Oddleifson, Wayne Schmitt, Dick Avery, Merle Brown and Rich
Quebec.
- Rich and Chris had a meeting with the parents before the committee meeting. There
was a large group of interested parents.
- Treasures report, the troop is solvent.
- The Troop voted to donate $250.00 to Fish (Friends in Service Helping).
- Rich will get dates to Merle on when he wants the Court of Awards.
- Troop 19 and Pack 19 of Weymouth had lost all their equipment
in the fire at the church in Weymouth landing. Arthur suggested we
donate some money to help them out. He will get more info. on what
is needed.
- Eagle projects:
- Harrison Schmidt: needs to get OK from town on
his project.
- John Keniley: has to go to the school committee
to get their OK on his project. He is thinking of doing it
the weekend of Oct 21, 2005.
- August Oddleifson: is working on doing
the trails at Wheelwright Park and mapping them out.
- R. K. Quebec: wants to do a bridge over brook on
Barnes Property. He will need conservation committee OK and
Conservation Trust before he can proceed.
- Merle will get in contact with Mary Ford of the Mariner on doing
an interview with RK and August for the Mariner.
- Need to see what can be done on the scout land in regards to the
bull dosing of a road that did a lot of damage to the property.
- Discussion ensued on the Scouts reasonability at the RTF. It has
not been good this summer. Dick and Rich will try to get the Scouts
and their parents to be more proactive.
Next Committee Meeting will be at the Locker Oct 2, 2005 7:30pm. Merle
will host.
April
10, 2005
Present: Merle Brown, Arthur Lehr, Wayne Schmidt and Nelson Pratt.
- The Report of the March Committee meeting was approved as presented.
- Treasurer reports that the Troop is solvent. The returnables
are down slightly from the corresponding month last year. A deposit
of $850.00 has been made for the Whitewater trip. We need to add
to our account at Council, probably $200.00 will be sufficient.
- Repeat: Scouts, both Boy and Girl, applying for the Troop 28
Scholarships should get the forms from Cohasset High School ASAP.
- Eagle projects:
- Harrison Schmidt: is getting the necessary signatures
from Town officials.
- Brian Pratt: is working on the funding.
- John Keniley: is looking looking into a concession
stand at High School field and has met with Council
Eagle advisor.
- August Oddleifson: has not yet
decided.
- R. K. Quebec: has not yet decided.
- The Troop Committee congratulates Scoutmaster Quebec for receiving
the Unit Commendation Award at the District Dinner April 8th at
the Monponsett Inn in Halifax.
- The Cubs’ Pinewood Derby was a success. The track that
the Troop provided worked well. Thanks to R.K. and Chris Quebec
for helping out.
- Reminder: Summer Camp at Camp Squanto will be July 31 to August
6, 2005. The fee is $265.00 if paid by May 16th and $285 afterward.
Any Scout interested in becoming a Councilor in Training should
contact the Scoutmaster or Committee Chairman NOW.
- The annual whitewater canoeing trip is scheduled for June 10th
-12th. The required deposit has been paid. (Item 2.)
- Arthur will contact SM Quebec for nomination for the Dr. Howard
Reid Award.
- The Troop did not provide the opening ceremony at Town Meeting
because of miscommunications.
- Wayne reported that the paperwork from Merit Badge University
is not back yet so we don’t how many Merit Badges were completed.
- The Court of Awards is scheduled for June 2, 2005. Parents are
encouraged to attend.
- The Committee is concerned about the poor attendance at its meetings.
Any suggestions from members will be appreciated. Parents are always
welcome at Committee Meetings and are urged to become members.
The next Committee meeting will be at the locker in the Deer Hill
School on May 8th at 7:30 P.M. Arthur Lehr will provide refreshments.

13, 2005
Present: Merle Brown, Arthur Lehr, Rich Quebec, and Nelson Pratt.
- The Report of the February Committee meeting was approved as presented.
- Treasurer reports that the Troop is solvent. The returnables
are down considerably from the corresponding month last year, probably
because of the weather. The cost of the ski trip was over
$1700.00. A deposit of $450.00 for summer camp at Camp Squanto
has been paid.
- Scouts, both Boy and Girl, applying for the Troop 28 Scholarships
should get the forms from Cohasset High School ASAP.
- Eagle projects:
- Harrison Schmidt: is working on fund raising and
has spoken to a sign maker.
- Brian Pratt: is working on the funding. He will
meet with District Advancement Chairman soon.
- John Keniley: is looking into a concession
stand at High School field and writing his proposal.
He has permission from the school.
- August Oddleifson: has not yet decided.
- R. K. Quebec: has not yet decided.
- Of the eight Webelos II’s who received the Arrow of Light
on February 13, four have submitted applications to the Troop and
more are expected to.
- The District Dinner is on April 8th at the Monponsett Inn in
Halifax. Several Committee members plan to attend.
- Scoutmaster Rich Quebec reported that the Klondike Derby which
was cancelled because of too much snow was rescheduled for the
same weekend as our ski trip.
- The Troop Pinewood Derby car clinic conducted on March 3rd was
successful and the Cubs enjoyed it.
- The Ski Trip to New Hampshire on February 24th to 27th was one
of the best ever. The weather and the skiing were great. The following
Scouts went: Brian Pratt, Paul Daily, John Keniley, Chris O’Grady,
Paul Pozniak, Chris Quebec, R.K. Quebec, Harrison Schmidt and Sam
Game. Providing leadership and transportation: Scott O’Grady,
Wayne Schmidt, Philip Lehr, Frank Pozniak and Rob Lehr. Cooks and
bottle washers: Merle Brown, Arthur Lehr and Nelson Pratt .
- Summer Camp at Camp Squanto will be July 31 to August 6, 2005.
The fee is $265.00 if paid by May 16th and $285 afterward. Any
Scout interested in becoming a Councilor in Training should contact
the Scoutmaster or Committee Chairman ASAP.

- The Troop will provide the opening ceremony at Town Meeting on
March 26th.
- Scoutmaster Quebec has been attending Roundtable. He suggests
that the Troop support the “Friends of Scouting”, which
is the fundraising effort, and the Council recruiting programs.
The Committee agreed. He also stated that he will attempt to promote
better communications with the Cub Pack.
- The Scoutmaster also reported that 13 Scouts were in Merit Badge
University and that the first session went well. Participating
are Paul Pozniak, John Keniley, Brian Pratt, Tucker Oddleifson,
Chris Quebec, Harrison Schmidt, Graham Sinclaire, Morgan McCarthy,
Max Reel, Chris O’Grady, Andrew Jacobucci, Chris Jacobucci
and Chris O’Grady.
The next Committee meeting will be at the locker in the Deer Hill
School on April 10th at 7:30 P.M. Nelson Pratt will provide refreshments.

Page Liberty, Brian Pratt, Nelson Pratt and Marylou and Gabriel Jacobucci.
- The Report of the January Committee meeting was approved as presented.
- Treasurer reports that the Troop is solvent. The returnables are
down from the corresponding month last year.
- Scouts, both Boy and Girl, applying for the Troop 28 Scholarships
should get the forms from Cohasset High School.
- The Troop purchased a new American Flag for the R.T.F .
- Eagle projects:
- Harrison Schmidt: is working on fund raising and
has spoken to a sign maker.
- Brian Pratt: is working on the funding.
- John Keniley: is looking into a concession
stand at High School field and writing his proposal.
- August Oddleifson: has not yet
decided.
- R. K. Quebec: has not yet decided.
- Eight Webelos II’s received the Arrow of Light on February
13. Scoutmaster Quebec held their Scoutmaster Conference which was
their last requirement. They will join the Troop as soon as the paperwork
is completed and some of them will attend Merit Badge University.
- The Council Dinner is on March 12th . Reservations must be made
soon.
- The District Dinner is on April 8th at the Monponsett Inn in
Halifax. Contact Merle if you are interested and he will make reservations.
- Scoutmaster Rich Quebec reported that the Klondike Derby was
cancelled because of too much snow.
- The Troop will conduct a Pinewood Derby car clinic on March
3rd at the regular Troop meeting. Merle will be there to show anyone
interested how to operate the new track.
- The Ski Trip to New Hampshire is February 24th to 27th. Scoutmaster
Quebec will post departure times, etc. on the Web Page.

9, 2005
Present: Merle Brown, Arthur Lehr, Wayne Schmidt, Rich Quebec, Rob
Lehr, Page Liberty, Brian Pratt, and Nelson Pratt.
- The Report of the December Committee meeting was approved as presented.
- Treasurer reports that the Troop is solvent. The returnables are
up. The Scholarship to Kristen James was paid.
- Scouts, both Boy and Girl, applying for the Troop 28 Scholarships
should get the forms from Cohasset High School .
- Troop Meetings are now Thursday nights. Schedule is on the Web
Page. The Court of Awards is rescheduled for Thursday, May 26, 2005
.
- Eagle projects:
- Harrison Schmidt: is working on estimate.
- Brian Pratt: is proposing to rebuild the bleachers
at the Beechwood Ball Park. He has written his proposal
and gotten permission from the Town and is presently
working on the funding.
- John Keniley: is looking into a concession
stand at High School field and writing his proposal.
- August Oddleifson: not yet decided.
- R. K. Quebec: looking into a project in Wheelwright
Park and has met with Arthur.
- There are eight Webelos II’s who should receive the Arrow
of Light , probably in April, and join the Troop shortly after. It
was originally hoped that they would be able to join the Troop in
time for Merit Badge University in March .
- Two Scouts from Scituate have transferred to Troop 28.
- The District Dinner is on April 8, 2005 at the Monponsett Inn
in Halifax.
- Scoutmaster Rich Quebec reported that the Klondike Derby is
on January 29, 2005 and the Troop has reservations for Camp Squanto
the week before, January 22. The Troop will practice for the event.
He said that Harrison Schmidt is the Troop leader for the weekend.
He also announced that Paul Pozniak is the Troop Quartermaster.
- The Troop has purchased a new Pinewood Derby Track and Merle
will show anyone interested how to operate it. Contact him for
a time.
- Council wants to have a “Friends of Scouting” meeting
with the Troop. This is Council’s fund raising
effort.
- The dates for Merit Badge University are March 5th and 19th,
2005. There will only be two sessions, but they will be longer.
Wayne will ask Taffy Nothnagle if she will teach Disability Awareness
Merit Badge.
- The Ski Trip to New Hampshire is February 24th to 27th. Scoutmaster
Quebec will post departure times, etc. on the Web Page.
- The Cub Blue and Gold Banquet will be on February 13th at St.
Anthony’s hall. Scouts will be needed to help.
- Summer Camp at Camp Squanto will be July 31 to August
6, 2005.
The next Committee meeting will be at the locker in the Deer Hill
School on February 13th at 7:30 P.M. Rob Lehr will get refreshments.
