Present: Merle Brown, Arthur Lehr, Dick Avery, Ross Reel, Chris Oddleifson, Wayne Schmidt, Bruce Sinclaire, Rich Quebec, and Nelson Pratt.
- The Report of the July Committee meeting was approved as corrected.
- Treasurer reports that the Troop is solvent. Recyclables were above same month last year and one of the best months ever.
- Eagle projects:
- Harrison Schmidt: No Change. Expects to get going now that school has started.
- John Keniley: Project not completed. Dick Avery will talk to family.
- August Oddleifson: Has been raising money and will get map printed after making final touches.
- R. K. Quebec: Talking with advisor and intends to make model of project.
- Wayne will purchase three new lantern posts for new style gas bottles. Old ones do not lock upright and are dangerous. He will also inventory gas lanterns and get the replacement parts that are needed.
- Arthur wants a Scout to inventory Emergency Management equipment. It could be a Life project. He also suggests that the Scout locker could use some reorganizing.
- Twelve Scouts, Greg Berube. Rob Hillman, Andrew Leighton. Kevin Mack, Morgan McCarthy, Tucker Oddleifson, Paul Pozniak, Christian Quebec, Max Reel, Graham Sinclaire, Jack Thomae and Ian Tracey completed the week at Camp Squanto . They completed a total of 31 Merit Badges. There were also 10 partials. Ross Reel and Nelson Pratt spent the week there and Bruce Sinclaire, Martin Thomae, Bob Hillman and Rob Lehr each spent a night. Nelson reported that the Scouts did very well, there were no problems and that he felt that the camp had a very good program and was well organized.
- The trailer has a flat tire, again. It is probably time to replace the tires. Arthur and Nelson will take care of it.
- Graham Sinclaire has taken over the Web Page. Information to be posted should be sent to him.
- Mrs. Hillman has worked with the Webelos and will be liaison between the Troop and the Webelos.
- Scoutmaster Rich said that there will be a Senior Patrol meeting next Thursday and the regular Troop meeting will start the Thursday after.
- Several Scouts did not receive some of the Merit Badges they earned at Merit Badge University , and three others earned on the ski trip in February. The situation will be rectified.
- Merle Brown reported on the proposed rebuilding of the Beechwood Ball Park . He felt that the Troop should support it. The Committee agreed to help, the exact extent to be determined. He also reported that the bleachers at the Beechwood Ball Park that were recently rebuilt by Brian Pratt as an Eagle project would be moved temporarily to Alumni Field at the High School as theirs do not meet safety standards.
The next Committee meeting will be at the locker in Deer Hill School on Sunday, October 8, 2006 at 7:30 P.M.
