Boy Scouts of America Prepared for Life

Welcome to Troop 28

Troop 28 provides a range of fun and challenging activities, from camping and hiking, to climbing and high-ropes courses, to canoeing, skiing and white water rafting.  Weekly meetings allow time to plan trips, learn skills and spend time with friends.  The Troop provides many opportunities to participate in service projects that benefit the community.

Leadership

Troop 28 is a scout-lead unit.  The scouts elect their leaders, who set the agenda for the Troop’s activities and meetings.  This provides leadership opportunities and training which are unmatched by other youth activities.  Scouts are guided and supervised by a group of trained adult volunteers dedicated to providing the broad BSA program of activities, training and learning opportunities to all of our scouts.

Community

Troop 28 scouts are leaders within scouting and in the community.  The Troop is well represented in student government, varsity sports, music, arts and community groups.  Scouting provides boys with the opportunity to excel both within the program and with the leadership skills to excel in their other activities.

Achievement

Within scouting, Troop 28 has a high rate of scouts who commit to the program and attain Eagle Scout rank, not because it is easy (it isn’t), but because the scouts have established a culture of working together to achieve that high distinction.
